Online Academic Audit (2020-21) Held at KIIT School of Mechanical Engineering
Online Academic Audit (2020-21) for different programs of School of Mechanical Engineering, KIIT-DU was conducted on 24th July 2021. The purpose of the academic audit was to maintain high academic standards and ensure qualitative measures for the Program Curriculum, Teaching and Learning, and Research & Development of the School.
At the outset, Academic Audit team members, Dr. Amiya Ranjan Mohanty, Professor, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, Dr. Bijay Kumar Rout, Professor, Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani and Dr. Radhakant Padhi, Professor, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore were welcomed by Dr. Bharat Chandra Routara, Dean, School of Mechanical Engineering. Brief introduction on academic processes and school achievements were presented by Dr. Routara, emphasizing the program details and curriculum of all the four programs of the School, i.e. B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical (Automobile) Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering and Aerospace Engineering.
Dr. Purna Chandra Mishra, Dean (Research), School of Mechanical Engineering, briefly focused on the Research and Development activities of all the four programs of the School. Detailed discussion on Teaching and Learning activities were carried out by the Prof. Mrutyunjay Jena, Program Head, Aerospace Engineering; Dr. Diptikanta Das, Program Head, Mechanical Engineering; Dr. P. Chandrasekhar, Program Head, Mechatronics Engineering; and Dr. Isam Panigrahi, Program Head, B.Tech., Mechanical (Automobile) Engineering, successively. Dr. Shanta Chakraborty thoroughly explained about the virtual lab mode of teaching in Lab classes.
The details of the M.Tech. program with the guidelines of the thesis works were briefly discussed by Dr. Satyaprakash Kar, M.Tech. Program Head, Thermal Engineering and Dr. Ruby Mishra, M.Tech. Program Head, Machine Design.
The session ended with the vote of thanks by Dr. Diptikanta Das.
