KIIT School of Mechanical Engineering Organizes Orientation Program for 3rd Semester B.Tech Students
KIIT School of Mechanical Engineering organized an Orientation Program for the 3rd semester B. Tech. Mechanical, Automobile, Mechatronics and Aerospace (Regular Batch) students on 9th June 2021 through Zoom platform. Objectives of this program were to inform the students about various facets of their branch of study and expose them to different activities of the School.
Welcoming the students to the new academic session, Prof. B. C. Routara, Dean, SME briefed them on course curriculum, research and consultancies, choice-based learning system, student technical chapters, tutor mentoring, etc. He announced “Free AutoCAD Training Program” for all the 3rd semester students during the summer vacation.
Dr. Diptikanta Das, Program Head (B.Tech. Mechanical) highlighted the scope of Mechanical Engineering in the present scenario, emphasizing to adopt the novel concepts of Industry 4.0, Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat. He encouraged the students to prepare themselves adequately to achieve an Honors Degree in their respective branches of engineering. Benefits of Minor courses provided by the University were also focused.
Dr. Isham Panigrahi, Program Head, B.Tech. Mechanical (Automobile) and Dy. Director (Student Research Cell) encouraged the students for qualitative project works and participation in various online project competitions. He also narrated the success stories of 3rd year and 4th year students involved in different projects under KIIT Automotive Society.
Dr. P. Chandrasekhar, Program Head (B.Tech. Mechatronics) and Assoc. Dean (T&P, SME) emphasized the internship and placement preparedness programs offered by the University to equip the students for achieving the best placement offers.
Prof. Mrutyunjay Jena, Program Head (B. Tech., Aerospace) highlighted the career in Aerospace Engineering, and emphasized on study tours, student exchange programs and scope for higher studies in reputed foreign universities.
Tutor Mentors, faculty members and staff of SME were also present at the program. Many students interacted with faculties with their queries. The orientation program ended with a vote of thanks to the chair and participants.
