KIIT School of Mechanical Engineering Conducts Virtual Students’ Competition 2021

Virtual Students’ Competition 2021 was inaugurated at KIIT School of Mechanical Engineering on 31st July 2021. The event, which comprised Dance, Song/Instrumental and Debate competitions, aims at relaxing the students during their prolonged home stay period by involving them in online cultural activities.

Dr. Bharat Chandra Routara, Dean, SME inaugurated the competition. Dr. Diptikanta Das, Program Head (Mechanical) & FIC, Student Affairs, SME praised the students for their active participation in the competition. Dr. Susanta Tripathy, Professor, SME interacted with the students and wished for their physical presence in the campus at the earliest after the ongoing COVID situation. Dr. Hemalata Jena, FIC, Student Affairs, SME also had an interaction with the participants and volunteers, followed by vote of thanks by Dr. Amlana Panda, FIC, Student Affairs, SME.

Dr. Jena and Dr. Panda moderated the competitions with the help of jury members. Dr. Sushanta Tripathy, Prof. Tarak Kumar Sahoo, Dr. Bijaya Bijeta Nayak and Dr. Smitarani Panda judged the Dance competition, whereas Dr. Santosh Kumar Nayak, Dr. Abhilas Swain, Dr. Prakash Kumar Sahu and Dr. Santosh Kumar Hotta were the judges of Song/Instrumental competition.

The event was coordinated by student volunteers Mr. Ashutosh Dixit, Ms. Netra Damle, Mr. Utsav Kundu, Mr. Himanshu Kumar, Mr. Vedant Chakraborty, Mr. Ayush Bose, Mr. Sagar Kumar, Mr. Vishnu Prakash, Mr. Anubhav Kumar and Mr. Devaj Pattnaik, who worked persistently to ensure its smooth conduct. Ms. Trishu Bhattacharya and Ms. Agnijita Roy hosted the event in a graceful way.

Dance and Song/Instrumental competition was held on 31st July, whereas the Debate Competition was scheduled on 7th August. An online cultural function will be organized on 15th August 2021, followed by certificate distribution to the winners.
