KIIT School of Mechanical Engineering Conducts School Level B.Tech. Project Expo – 2021

KIIT School of Mechanical  Engineering conducted its School Level B.Tech. Project Expo – 2021 for the pass out batch on 30th April 2021 on virtual mode. The expo provided a platform to the 2021 passing out students to showcase their final year project works.

At the outset, Prof. Bharat Chandra Routara, Dean, School of Mechanical Engineering welcomed the panel members, project supervisors, faculty members, and participants present at the session. In his welcome address, Prof. Routara, enlightened how the B.Tech. Project Expo started in 2018 under the unswerving guidance of Prof. Hrushikesha Mohanty, Vice Chancellor, KIIT-DU. Further, he said, the Project Expo has engendered curiosity amid all the Schools of Engineering over the years. Prof. Purna Chandra Mishra, Dean (Research) congratulated all the student participants and their Project supervisors for the splendid work accomplished during the COVID Pandemic.  The internal Evaluation Committee comprised of  Dr. P.C. Mishra, Dr. S Tripathy, Dr. K B Sahu,  Dr. D.K. Das,  Dr. I. Panigrahi,  Dr. P.C. Sekhar,  Prof. M. Jena,  Dr. M.S. Khan,  Dr. S.P. Kar, Dr. Ruby Mishra, and Dr. A.K. Rout.

Sixteen best B.Tech. Projects were presented by the students, ranging from production Engineering, Design, Industrial Engineering, CAD, CAM, Robotics and Automobile Engineering. The projects emphasized some significant topics like aerodynamic cooling of fins, Powertrain of an all Terrain Vehicle (ATV), the design of Robot and its application, IOT on water management in small scale industry, machinability analysis of uns32750 super duplex steel,  composite materials and its machinability analysis.

The panel members appreciated the presentations and gave their valuable feedback to students considering the recent industry scenario and real time product application. The event ended with encouraging words by the panel members. The vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Akshaya Kumar Rout (FIC, B.Tech. Project) and the event were moderated by Dr. Amlana Panda. More than 100 participants attended the project expo.
