International Conference on ‘Advances in Mechanical & Industrial Engineering’ Concludes
The three-day Online International Conference on ‘Advances in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (ICAMIE 2020)’, organized by the School of Mechanical Engineering, KIIT Deemed to be University, concluded on 13th December 2020. Speaking at the valedictory session, the Chief Guest, Prof. Kumaran Kadirgama, Professor, UMP, Malaysia underscored the role of technical adaptability of teachers in the present challenging time of the Covid-19 pandemic. He congratulated KIIT for successfully conducting the international conference online.
In his keynote address, Prof. Noé G. Alba-Baena, UniversidadAutonoma de Ciudad Juarez (UACJ), Juarez, Mexico elaborated on the synthesis of metal matrix composites and its application in sustainable manufacturing processes. The interactive session was moderated by Prof. Shanta Chakraborty. Prof. J. R. Mohanty, Registrar, KIIT thanked all the delegates, keynote speakers, publishers and sponsors on behalf of the University and invited them to visit the beautiful campuses of KIIT and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) when normalcy returns. Prof. A. K. Sahoo, Director-R&D (SoT) highlighted the research facilities available at the School of Mechanical Engineering.
Earlier, Prof. B. C. Routara, Dean, SME, KIIT (Chairman, ICAMIE 2020) delivered the welcome address, while Prof. Suchismita Satapathy, Convener presented the summary of the conference.
Coordinated by the organizing team, Ms. Nayan Arora and others, the valedictory function was conducted on the virtual platform. The vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Smita Rani Panda after declaring the “Best Paper Awards” in various categories by Prof. A. K. Sahoo. Among others, Prof. P. C. Mishra, Dean (Research), SME (Co-chairman, ICAMIE 2020); Prof. Smita Rani Panda, Co-convener, delegates from India and abroad, faculty members and students of the School of Mechanical Engineering were present at the valedictory function.
