International Webinar on Digitalization of Culture and its Explorations
An International Webinar on “Digitalization of Culture and its Exploration” was organized by KIIT School of Humanities on 20th August 2022. The webinar was attended by participants from Philippines, Indonesia, Egypt, East Timor, South Korea, to name a few.
Speaking at the inaugural session, Prof. J. R. Mohanty, Registrar, KIIT-DU thanked Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS for promoting and safeguarding literature, art and culture of Odisha which potentially sensitized young minds with the prospects of digitalization as a prominent tool to revive our traditions and culture, preserving them for generations to come.
The convenor of the webinar, Dr. Deepanjali Mishra welcomed the dignitaries, academicians and participants and set a positive tone for the deliberations. Dr. S. C. Swain, Associate Dean, KIIT School of Humanities discussed how digitalization offers a synergistic access of the prevailing information. Digitalization has turned the world into a global village of connectivity, stated Prof. Sudarshan Nanda, Head CIR.
Participating in the technical session, Dr. Vina Adriany, Director, SouthEast Asian Ministers of Education Organization, Centre for Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting, Indonesia gave a presentation on Navigating ECEC and Digital Learning in the time of Covid-19, lessons learned from Indonesia.
Dr. Namhyun Kim, Associate Professor, Dongguk University, South Korea spoke on the topic, ‘Culture and Tourism: Cultural Challenges in Tourism and Tourism Ethics’, while Prof. Devender Ku, Dept of English, BHU Varanasi spoke on the theoretical aspect of culture. The technical sessions were moderated by Dr. Smrutirekha Mohanty, Dr. Sugyanta Priyadarshini, and Dr. Ananya Mitra.
