IEEE Sensors Council Seasonal School on “Advances in RF Sensor & Optical Fibre Sensor Technologies and Applications
The School of Electronics Engineering, KIIT Deemed to be University, successfully organized the Five-Day IEEE Sensors Council Seasonal School on “Advances in RF Sensor & Optical Fibre Sensor Technologies and Applications” from 1–5 June 2026 on hybrid mode. The event was organized in association with the IEEE Sensors Council Bhubaneswar Chapterand theIEEE Sensors Council Student Branch Chapter, School of Electronics Engineering, KIIT.
The Seasonal School brought together researchers, academicians, industry professionals, and students to explore the latest advancements in RF and optical fibre sensor technologies, with special emphasis on biomedical, healthcare, and emerging sensing applications. Fifteen distinguished national and international experts delivered insightful lectures covering recent research developments, technological innovations, challenges, and real-world applications in the field of sensor technologies.
Among the eminent speakers were two IEEE Sensors Council Distinguished Lecturers (DLs): Dr. Anwesha Khasnobish, TCS Research, Kolkata, India, and Dr. Paola Saccomandi, Professor and IEEE Senior Member, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Politecnico di Milano, Italy. The participants also benefited from expert lectures delivered by Prof. P. K. Sahu, Professor, IIT Bhubaneswar, and Prof. Rajan Jha, Professor, IIT Bhubaneswar, among several other distinguished speakers.


The inaugural ceremony was graced by Prof. Anil Kumar Roy, President, IEEE Sensors Council; Prof. Rajan Jha, IIT Bhubaneswar;Prof. Gopal Chandra Kundu, Director, Research & Development, KIIT-DU;Prof. Chinmoy Kumar Panigrahi, Vice-Chair, IEEE Bhubaneswar Section; and Prof. Sudhakar Sahu, Chair, IEEE Sensors Council Bhubaneswar Chapter. The ceremony was also attended by Prof. Rasmita Lenka, Treasurer, IEEE Sensors Council Bhubaneswar Chapter, and Prof. Jyoti Ranjan Panda, Secretary, IEEE Sensors Council Bhubaneswar Chapter.
The Five-Day IEEE Sensors Council Seasonal School was coordinated by Prof. Sudhakar Sahu, Chair, IEEE Sensors Council Bhubaneswar Chapter and Professor, School of Electronics Engineering, KIIT-DU; Prof. Rasmita Lenka, Treasurer, IEEE Sensors Council Bhubaneswar Chapter; Prof. Jyoti Ranjan Panda, Secretary, IEEE Sensors Council Bhubaneswar Chapter; Prof. Sumit Dass; and Prof. P. K. Patra, whose dedicated efforts contributed significantly to the successful organization of the event.
