Academic Empowerment (Audit 2020-21) Held at KIIT School of Electronics Engineering

The Academic Empowerment Audit (2020-21) for B.Tech, M.Tech and Ph.D programs of the School of Electronics Engineering, KIIT-DU was organized on a virtual platform on 23rd July 2021. Dr. Aurobinda Routray, Professor, IIT Kharagpur; Dr. M. Jaleel Akhtar, Professor, IIT Kanpur; and Dr Gautam K Mahanti, Prof. NIT Durgapur were invited to evaluate the functioning of the School during the AY 2020-21 and shared their views and suggestions.

Dr. Suprava Patnaik welcomed the members and presented the profile of the School, including actions taken based on the suggestions received from the previous audit committee. She also briefed the extended student support system, which solved the issues of online teaching to a large extent. This was followed by presentations on curricular aspects by Dr. S. S. Singh, on B.Tech Project Guidelines by Prof. Debolina Deb, and briefing on M.Tech Program by Dr. J. K. Das. Expert members joined the ongoing online classes. Six course files were shown by the Course Coordinators emphasizing the outcome based learning process followed by the faculties. Activities carried out for these courses were appraised by the experts.

In the afternoon session, Dr. Arindam Basak presented the details of activities carried out by the T&P team and placement statistics. Dr. U. P. Singh presented the research and consultancy status followed by the presentation of Dr. P. Dutta on the process of online examination and evaluation conducted in the last academic year. Audit Committee members also interacted with the non-teaching staff and some 3rd year and 4th year students. The meeting ended with an exchange of notes of thanks among the members attending.
