KIIT School of Electrical Engineering Organizes School Induction Programme-2020 for 1st Year M. Tech. Students (2020 Admitted Batch) on Virtual Mode

The School Induction Programme-2020 for 1st year M.Tech Students of 2020 Admitted Batch on Virtual Mode was organized by the School on 28th September, 2020.

In his Address, Dr. M. K. Maharana, Program Head, PhD informed the students about the advanced research of each specialization. Dr Alivarani Mohapatra, Semester Research Coordinator, M.Tech talked about the research resources and credentials and challenges of the School.

Prof Subrat Behera, Associate Dean, (T&P) threw light on the upcoming technologies and projects like IOT and smart cities. He emphasized on developing the basic prototype of research which can be further collaborated with companies.

Dr. Subhra Debdas, FIC, Professional Societies explained the benefits of student members by joining in existing professional societies of the School like IE (I), ISLE, ISTE, IET and IEEE.  Prof. S. C. Swain, Associate Dean, enlightened on the facilities available in KIIT and suggested to work with funded projects. 

Prof. Chinmoy Kumar Panigrahi, Director, SoEE, focused on scope and opportunities of M.Tech program. Clarity in concepts, fundamentals of interested subjects and quality research are highly essential to impress the recruiters in future, he said.

Dr Tanmoy R Choudhury, FIC, Student Affairs, SoEE proposed the vote of thanks and suggested the development of a network within peers and the various IEEE societies in KIIT for strengthening curriculum vitae. During the program, all faculty members, M.Tech. Scholars and Research Scholars, Faculty members and staff of the School were present.

Earlier, in his welcome address, Prof B.K. Nayak, Program Head, M.Tech congratulated students and their parents for choosing KIIT. All 1st year M.Tech. students gave self-introduction and expressed their gratitude to KIIT authorities. Prof Subhendu Bikas Santara:PED; Prof Deepak Kumar Yadav :PES and Prof Subodh Kumar Mohanty: PSE: all specialization coordinators interacted with each fresher one to one and they urged the scope of each specialization. Dr R.N.Senapati, Dy CoE, presented slides about the examination system of University.

Currently, society has a lot of expectations from post graduate students. The Course Coordinators of 1st year, M.Tech. Program briefed on course objectives, course outcomes, modality during online classes and they requested the students to attend the classes regularly as per time table.
