KIIT Hosts AIU-Sponsored Faculty Development Program on Renewable Energy and Smart Grid: Recent Trends and Applications
The School of Electrical Engineering at KIIT-DU organized a five-day hybrid Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Renewable Energy and Smart Grid: Recent Trends and Applications” from May 5 – 9, 2025. The FDP was sponsored by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) under the Academic and Administrative Development Centre (AADC).
The Chief Guest, Shri Ashok Kumar Tripathy, Former Director General, CPRI, Bangalore, delivered an inspiring keynote address, emphasizing the importance of innovation in renewable energy and the integration of smart grid technologies to meet future energy demands.
Prof. Chinmoy Kumar Panigrahi, Director of the School, outlined the School’s academic and research achievements, and its strong industry collaborations. Prof. Kumar Mohanty, Director of KIIT School of Management and AIU Nodal Officer, emphasized the transformative role of AIU and AADC in building academic and administrative leadership in Indian universities. Prof. Siddharth Swarup Rautaray, Dean of the Quality Assurance Cell, played a key role in the successful planning of the FDP.
Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT, was profoundly thanked for providing the world-class infrastructure, visionary leadership, and invaluable exposure that enabled the successful organization of such academic programs. Prof. Saranjit Singh, Vice Chancellor, KIIT-DU, provided unwavering institutional backing and visionary leadership that greatly inspired the organizing team. Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar, KIIT-DU, extended his constant support and valuable guidance towards the successful organization of the FDP.
Earlier, Prof. Ranjeeta Patel, Dean of the School, welcomed the participants and thanked AIU and KIIT for their support. She highlighted the wide participation of around 70 delegates from across India and abroad. The ceremony concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Prof. Alivarani Mohapatra, Associate Professor.
