Dr. Jagannath Singh, Assistant Professor, KIIT School of Computer Engineering delivered a talk on “Software Debugging : Practices and Prospects” on 22nd January 2021 on virtual mode, under the “Speak and Search Lecture Series” of the School.

Introducing basic debugging techniques, Dr. Singh explained how they can be used to detect faults in the software engineering process. He highlighted the application of evolutionary algorithms for multiple fault localization based on some of the mathematical and statistical analysis techniques. He ended the talk by proposing an open question to the participants to increase their inquisitiveness – Can Neural Networks be applied for fault detection in Software Debugging?

The talk was followed by an open forum discussion where both students and faculty members participated and shared their perspectives on the topic. The session was coordinated by Dr. Minakhi Rout and Ms. Junali Jasmine Jena, Assistant Professors, KIIT School of Computer Engineering.
