Online Academic Audit (2020-21) Held at KIIT School of Computer Engineering
Online Academic Audit (2020-21) for different programs at the School of Computer Engineering, KIIT-DU was organized on 20th July 2021. The purpose of the academic audit was to ensure qualitative processes/measures for Online Teaching, Learning, and Evaluation followed at the School.
The experts, Dr. Jayanta Mukhopadhyay, Professor, IIT Kharagpur and Dr. Pradip K. Das, Professor, IIT Guwahati were welcomed by Prof. Biswajit Sahoo, Director and Prof. Prasant K. Pattnaik, FIC- QA Cell of the School. The agenda was shared by the Director followed by a brief introduction on academic processes and school achievements presented by Dr. Siddhartha Swarup Rautaray, FIC- QA Cell of the School. The initial discussion was focused on the activities and initiatives undertaken by the School based on recommendations of the previous academic audit report (2019-20). Dr. Mohit Panda, FIC QA Cell coordinated the visit of experts to different online classes.
Dr. Siddharth Swarup Rautaray presented the curriculum development and related aspects. Prof. Krishna Chakravarty, FIC QA Cell moderated the interaction of course coordinators with the experts. Prof. Sital Dash, Prof. Kunal Anand as course coordinators presented the theory and laboratory course files highlighting the activities conducted in the online mode of teaching. The main focus was on online teaching and learning and how schools are able to achieve the outcome-based approach even in this pandemic situation. Process and guidelines of B.Tech. Projects along with the outcomes were discussed by Dr. Jagannath Singh, B.Tech. Project Coordinator. The details of the M.Tech. program with the guidelines of the thesis work was briefly presented by Dr. Hrudaya K. Tripathy, M.Tech. Program Head.
Dr. Arup A. Acharya, Dr. Bhabani S. P. Mishra, Dr. Amulya R. Swain, Deans of the School were present during the discussion on the quality of teaching, activity-based learning, question pattern, assessment, curricular aspects, research, project, best practices, etc. In the next session, the assessment process was detailed by Dr. Anuja Acharya, Dy. COE followed by the updates on research activities presented by Dean (Research) Prof. Suresh Ch. Satapathy. Interaction with laboratory Technical Assistants brought much insight into different tools used in laboratories in the virtual mode.
Dr. Manjusha Pandey, Prof. Sagar Pattnaik, Prof. Roshini Pradhan, FIC (SA) coordinated the interaction of the experts with students, alumni, and parents as stakeholders. The parents praised the authorities and faculties of the School for the all-round development of their wards and the continuous learning as well as placements assistance provided even during the pandemic time. The alumni and students shared their experiences with the experts during their stay at KIIT-DU. The session ended with a final audit report compilation from the esteemed auditors.
