KIIT School of Computer Engineering Organizes Online Project Expo 2021

The School of Computer Engineering, KIIT Deemed to be University conducted the Online Project Expo-2021 on 24th April 2021. Considering the pandemic situation, the School-level Project Expo was organized online using ZOOM and Google Meet and was witnessed by over 200 participants. It provided a platform to the 2021 passing out students to showcase their final year project works. The project works covered all the different fields of Computer Engineering such as Algorithms Design, Circuit Design, IoT Applications, Website Design, Data Science, Machine Learning, Mobile Apps Developments, Image Processing, NLP, etc.

This year around 200 projects were developed in the School by different groups of students with the help of their supervisors. After preliminary screening by the review committee, around 70 projects were selected for publication in the Project Expo proceedings in the form of a book with ISBN, edited by the team of Project FICs (Dr. Jagannath Singh, Dr. Sushruta Mishra, Ms. Junali Jasmine Jena, Mrs. Lipika Mohanty, Mrs. Sarita Tripathy, Ms. Ronali Padhy, Dr. Banchhanidhi Dash, Mrs. Lipika Dewangan, and Mr. Prabhu Prashad Dev).

Inaugurating the Expo,  Prof. (Dr.) Samaresh Mishra, Director (SA), School of Computer Engineering, KIIT Deemed to be University, emphasized on the importance of project expo and making the project expo industry relevant, which would help the final year students in bagging better placement opportunities. He gave information about how the project expo started with the motivation of Prof. (Dr.) Hrushikesha Mohanty, Vice Chancellor, KIIT Deemed to be University. Dr. Jagannath Singh, FIC UG Project, placed the insight of the process of organizing the online project expo and the editing of Project Expo book.

Earlier, the event started with the welcome address by Mrs. Lipika Dewangan, FIC UG Project, who provided details about the event, followed by the introductory talk by Dr. Bhabani Shankar Prasad Mishra, Dean, School of Computer Engineering. He discussed about the progress of the school in the field of research and encouraged the faculties and students to keep up the trend.

About 35 best projects were showcased by the students. The event concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr. Sarita Tripathy, FIC UG Project, School of Computer Engineering.
