KIIT School of Computer Engineering Conducts Orientation Program for 2020-Admitted Batch Students
The Orientation Program for 2020-admitted batch students of KIIT School of Computer Engineering (KSCE) was conducted on 22nd March 2022. The program was graced by Dr. Arup Abhinna Acharya, Associate Professor, KSCE; Dr. Sucheta Priyabadini, Director, Student Counselling; Dr. Gaganendu Dash, Director-General, Sports and School of Yoga; Dr. Suresh Satapathy, Professor & Dean-Research; Dr. Prachet Bhuyan, Associate Professor & Dean (T&P); Dr. Dilip K. Swain, Librarian; Dr. Shyam Sundar Behura, Deputy Director, Student Services; Dr. Biswajit Sahoo, Professor & Director General, KSCE; Dr. B. S. P. Mishra, Professor, KSCE; and Dr. Manjusha Pandey, FIC (SA), KSCE.
Addressing the students, Dr. Biswajit Sahoo described academic facilities offered by KIIT School of Computer Engineering. The School has world-class infrastructure and offers a plethora of opportunities through the various academic societies that challenge, groom and enhance the abilities of the students, he stated. Dr. Sucheta Priyabadini informed students of the various career avenues that KIIT provides to its students. It provides all assistance that a student may require to excel, she added.
The Orientation Program was held to enlighten the 4th semester students on their UG academics, courses of studies of upcoming semesters, different academic and support systems, examinations, student support, community engagement (NSS, NCC & Youth Red Cross), student code of conduct, sports facilities, counseling & mentoring, library facilities, hostel facilities, research (with emphasize on interdisciplinary research and Social Science Research), innovations, incubations, consultancy facilities, training & placement support, career advisory & augmentation services, quality requirements, student opportunities, participative governance system, internationalization, and social outreach and its impact.
It also featured a notable address by Dr. Gaganendu Dash. Describing unique achievements of the KIIT students on a global platform, he provided a panoramic presentation of the sports facilities and infrastructure present within the campus. He encouraged the young students to derive inspiration from their predecessors and take up to the grounds to excel and switch to an active and healthy lifestyle. The ceremony was steered by Dr. Manjusha Pandey.
