KIIT School of Civil Engineering Conducts School Level B.Tech. Project Expo – 2021

KIIT School of Civil Engineering conducted its School Level B.Tech. Project Expo – 2021 for the B.Tech. 2021 passing out batch on 29th April 2021 on virtual mode.

At the outset, Prof. Malaya Mohanty welcomed the external expert members, Mr. Saroj Nayak, Director, Global Archer LLP, Mumbai and Mr. Prasanta K. Mohapatra, Chief Engineer, Odisha Water Supply and Sewerage Board (OWSSB), the participants, project supervisors and faculty members present at the session. In his welcome address, Prof. Sanjib Moulick, Dean, School of Civil Engineering elucidated how the B.Tech. Project Expo started in 2018 under the direct guidance of Prof. Hrushikesha Mohanty, Vice Chancellor, KIIT-DU. He also said, the Project Expo has generated curiosity among all the Engineering Schools over the years. He congratulated all the student participants and their Project supervisors for their marvelous work conducted during the Covid Pandemic.

Twelve of the best B.Tech. projects were presented by the students, ranging from Structural Engineering, Design, Software & applications, to problems of traffic congestion, vermicomposting, rainfall prediction and water quality. The projects highlighted some remarkable topics like the design of Covid19 special quarantine centers. The external jury members thoroughly enjoyed the presentations and gave their valuable feedback to students considering the present industry scenario in the country. They appreciated the students and their project supervisors for the qualitative projects.

The event ended with encouraging words by the external experts sharing their positive experiences of the event and vote of thanks by Prof. Ipsita Mohanty (UG Project coordinator). The event was attended by more than 85 participants.
