KIIT Faculty Explores Research and Industry Partnerships in China
Dr. Aparupa Pani, Associate Professor and Associate Dean of Research, at the School of Civil Engineering, KIIT Deemed to be University visited three major cities in China: Shanghai, Wuxi, and Beijing to participate in the International Drying Symposium held during November 22–25, 2024 followed by two industry visits and a guest talk. She also delivered a presentation during her visit. The symposium saw an impressive turnout of 409 delegates from 29 countries, with one of the key highlights being the inauguration of the International Research Association for Drying Science & Technology (Macao) IRADSTM.
China Agricultural University (CAU) Beijing, invited three guests from India and two from Poland for a guest lecture aimed at fostering strong research collaborations and exploring potential opportunities in multidisciplinary fields. Dr. Pani represented KIIT in the lecture with possible collaboration opportunities, alongside two esteemed faculty members from NIT Rourkela and ICT Mumbai. CAU ranked 237 in Best Global Universities and 484 in the 2025 QS World University Rankings.
At CAU, Dr. Pani visited the Water Resources & Civil Engineering Laboratory with the Head of the Department, Prof. Xian Liu, and the Chief Program Coordinator, Prof. Hongwei Xiao. During this visit, she initiated discussions on potential research collaborations with the university. Dr. Pani also took the opportunity to highlight the significant initiatives already undertaken by KIIT, KISS, and KIMS. Prof. Xian Liu expressed great enthusiasm about the prospects for future collaborations.
The university authorities were deeply impressed by the remarkable achievements of the Founder, Dr. Achyuta Samanta, and his visionary efforts in establishing and expanding the KIIT group of institutions on a global scale. They were also particularly impressed by the impressive number of Olympians produced by KIIT and KISS, further strengthening the bond and excitement for future collaborative opportunities.
