Inaugural Ceremony of ‘Summer Internship Program – 2021’ at KIIT School of Civil Engineering

KIIT School of Civil Engineering organized the inaugural ceremony of ‘Summer Internship Program – 2021’ on virtual mode on 31st May 2021. The event commenced with a brief video depicting the glorious heritage and achievements of KIIT and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS).

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Hrushikesha Mohanty, Vice Chancellor, KIIT-DU congratulated the school for conducting the online summer internship programs and specially praised it for reaching out to higher audiences for conducting such programs. Prof. J. R. Mohanty, Registrar highlighted the recent achievements of KIIT-DU and specifically mentioned the state-of-the-art laboratory resources and faculty strength of KIIT School of Civil Engineering. Earlier, welcoming the guests, faculty members, internship coordinators and participating students, Prof. S. Moulick, Dean, KIIT School of Civil Engineering introduced the School and the purpose of the summer internship program.

Prof. Mohibullah, Program Coordinator, Summer Internship Program – 2021 described the five summer internship programs – Project Planning and Scheduling using Primavera; Transportation Infrastructure: Planning and Design; Infrastructure Engineering and Design Solutions using E-Survey CADD; Design of RCC structures using Tekla software; and Modeling Applications in Water Resources Engineering. He informed that this time more than 150 participants enrolled in the various internship programs and were from 21 different institutions across the country, including state government and central government institutions like NIT Rourkela, NIT Silchar, etc.

Prof. B. G. Mohapatra, Director, Consultancy Services addressed the audience and talked about the requirement of online platforms for learning during the pandemic. Prof. D. K. Bera, Associate Dean, T&P proposed the vote of thanks, which was followed by general QA session and group photo session. The event was attended by 130 participants.
