17th ICDCIT-2021 Inaugurated at KIIT
The first day of 17th International Conference on Distributed Computing and Internet Technology (ICDCIT 2021), organized by the School of Computer Engineering, KIIT Deemed to be University started with the inauguration of 11th Industry Symposium 2021, a sister event of ICDCIT.
The first invited talk was delivered by Dr. Hrushikesha Mohanty, Vice Chancellor, KIIT Deemed to be University on “NLP and Sentiment Computation” followed by the talk by Dr. Arun Kumar Balakrishnan, Director, ikval Softwares LLP, Coimbatore on “Productizing an Artificial Intelligence solution for Intelligent Detail Extraction – Synergy of Symbolic and Sub-symbolic Artificial Intelligence Techniques”. The session was attended by around 200 participants from both industry and academia and chaired by Dr. Manjusha Pandey, Associate Professor, KIIT School of Computer Engineering. It was coordinated by Dr. Siddharth Swarup Rautaray, Associate Professor, KIIT School of Computer Engineering and Ms. Junali Jasmine Jena, Assistant Professor, KIIT School of Computer Engineering.
The 10th Project Innovation Contest 2021, another sister event of ICDCIT, was also inaugurated in presence of Mrs. Maneesha Nanda, Principal Architect, QuEST Global Engineering Services Pvt. Ltd. and Dr. Hrushikesha Mohanty. Participants showcased their projects in a virtual “E-Kunjaban” platform which was quite innovative and impressive.
Two parallel sessions were hosted, which were chaired by Dr. Satyabrata Das, Associate Professor, VSSUT, Burla, Dr. Alok Jagdev, Professor, KIIT School of Computer Engineering, Dr. Pradip Kumar Sahu, Associate Professor, VSSUT, Burla and Dr. Santosh Swain, Professor, KIIT School of Computer Engineering.
It was attended by around 230 participants including students from various schools of Bhubaneswar. The sessions were co-ordinated by Mrs. Krishna Chakravarty and Dr. Ajay Jena, Assistant Professors from KIIT School of Computer Engineering.
The day ended with the presentation of the accepted papers in the Cloud Computing and Networking Track of ICDCIT – 2021 which was chaired by Dr. Pabitra Mohan Khilar, Associate Professor, NIT Rourkela and Dr. Madhabananda Das, Sr. Professor, KIIT School of Computer Engineering. The session was coordinated by Dr. Jagannath Singh and Dr. Saurabh Bilgaiyan, Assistant Professors from KIIT School of Computer Engineering.
The second day started with the first invited talk of ICDCIT-2021 by Dr. Ajay D. Kshemkayani, University of Illinois, Chicago on “Recent Advances in Causality Testing: The Bloom Clock and The Resettable Prime Clock”.
This session was chaired by Prof.(Dr.) Raja Natarajan, TIFR, India. The second invited talk was delivered by Dr. Martin Gogolla, University of Bremen, Germany on “Model Development in the Tool USE: Explorative, Consolidating and Analytic Steps for UML and OCL Models”. This session was chaired by Prof.(Dr.) P.K. Pattnaik, KIIT School of Computer Engineering.
In the next session, the accepted papers in the “Security and Graph Algorithms” track were presented and it was chaired by Prof.(Dr.) P.K. Dash, IIT, Guwahati; and Dr. Prachet Bhuyan, KIIT School of Computer Engineering. All the sessions of ICDCIT were coordinated by Dr. Saurabh Bilgaiyan, Mr. Abhay Sahoo and Ms. Sital Dash from KIIT School of Computer Engineering.
Some projects were also presented in the parallel sessions of Project Innovation Contest chaired by Dr. Sangharatna Godboley, NIT Warangal; and Dr. H.K. Tripathy, KIIT School of Computer Engineering. It was coordinated by Dr. Ajay Jena, Mrs. Krishna Chakravarty and Mr. Kunal Anand from KIIT School of Computer Engineering.
11th Student Research Symposium, which is also a sister event of ICDCIT, was inaugurated and accepted student papers were presented. The parallel sessions were chaired by Dr. Partha Sarathi Pattnaik and Dr. Satya Ranjan Dash from KIIT School of Computer Applications and Dr. B.S.P. Mishra and Dr. Arup A. Acharya from KIIT School of Computer Engineering.
The day ended with the inaugural ceremony of 17th ICDCIT-2021 which was addressed by Prof. (Dr.) N.V. Ramana Rao, Director, NIT Warangal as Chief Guest of the ceremony, Prof.(Dr.) Hrushikesha Mohanty, Vice Chancellor, KIIT DU; Prof.(Dr.) Jnana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar, KIIT DU; Prof.(Dr.) Biswajit Sahoo, Director, KIIT School of Computer Engineering ; Prof.(Dr.) Diganta Goswami, IIT, Guwahati as Program Chair of ICDCIT-2021; Prof. (Dr.) R. K. Shyamasundar, IIT Bombay as member of Advisory Committee, ICDCIT-2021; Dr Laxmi Parida, IBM, USA as General Chair, ICDCIT-2021; Dr Siddharth Rautaray, KIIT School of Computer Engineering as Co-Chair of 11th Industry Symposium; Dr Krishna Chakravarty, KIIT School of Computer Engineering as Co-Chair of 10th Project Innovation Contest; and Dr Manoj Kumar Mishra, KIIT School of Computer Engineering as Co-Chair of 10th Student Research Symposium.
The proceedings of 17th ICDCIT, 9th Industry Symposium, 10th Industry Symposium, 11th Industry Symposium and book of 10th Project Innovation Contest were released on online mode. The Inaugural Session ended with a splendid performance of Kathak by Shrinjoyi Chhetri, an alumna of KIIT; Odishi by Shivani Das, a student of KIIT School of Computer Engineering; Ghazal by Rounak Guha, an alumnus of KIIT School of Computer Engineering; and Arijit Bhattacharya, a student of KIIT School of Biotechnology. The session was coordinated by Ms. Junali Jasmine Jena from KIIT School of Computer Engineering.
