KIIT School of Biotechnology Organizes Kuora-KSBT Alumni Talk Series – Chapter One
KIIT School of Biotechnology organized Kuora-KSBT Alumni Talk Series – Chapter One. Delivering the talk, Dr. Sudip Das, a Postdoctoral Researcher from University of Lausanne, Switzerland and a Marie Curie Fellow guided the budding biotechnologists and microbiologists about the world outside the university. He advised students to follow simple but important rules like getting out of their comfort zone and increasing one’s exposure to different types of work, to prioritize quality over quantity and making science visible and fundable. He discussed his previous research works such as Chlamydia paralyzing neutrophils and ongoing research works which include work with lung microbiota. The talk was very inspiring and gave students exposure to the world of research.
Dr. Sudip Das is also an Infection Biologist who completed his Masters degree in the field of Biotechnology at KIIT Deemed to be University in 2010. The interactive session provided students with an opportunity to directly interact with Dr. Sudip Das. He motivated the young scientists by advising them to always keep a positive attitude. “Simplicity is the key to success and always be ready for rejections”, he told them.
The session was hosted by Dr. Gopal Choudhary, who also proposed the vote of thanks. Dr. Srinivas Pattnaik, Dean, KSBT welcomed the speaker, dignitaries and participants. It was attended by faculty members of KSBT, besides students.
