KIIT Student Counseling Cell KIIT School of Applied Sciences Organize Webinar on “Scope of Higher Studies Abroad”

The Student Counseling Cell of KIIT-DU, in association with KIIT School of  Applied Sciences, organised  a webinar on  “Scope of Higher Studies Abroad – An Early Bird Approach” on 1st May 2021 on virtual mode. The webinar  opened up areas of securing fully funded research positions in different parts of the globe among  the First Year B.Tech students and  also dwelt on the modalities involved in achieving the same.

In her address, Dr. Sucheta Priyabadini, Director, Student Counseling mentioned that  this is a part of a series of sessions on career counseling initiated by the Counseling Cell in recent times, duly involving  the alumni based abroad, who have made it big in their lives.

Dr. Priyabadini welcomed and introduced the Guest Speaker, Mr. Sarbajit Paul, who is a distinguished KIIT-DU alumni from 2013 graduating batch of School of Electrical Engineering. A recipient of South  Korean Government Scholarship  for MS in Mechatronics Engineering, he is now a researcher with Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute (KERI). Mr. Sarbajit has published more than 50 research articles in mechatronics system design, holds 5 patents, has been awarded best young researcher award by Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers and is a recipient of 2017 IEEE Asia-pacific Silver Award. He is also an Endeavour Fellow (Govt. of Australia Fellowship).

Addressing the scope of higher studies abroad, Mr. Paul spoke about the institutions /countries to target, potential sponsors and also the smart method of applying for the same. He acknowledged the contribution of  KIIT in general and Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS in particular in honing and shaping his skills. He exhorted the students in thinking and aiming big in life.

It was a highly interactive session with the students showing a great deal of interest keeping in line with their future academic ambition.

Prof. Kajal Parashar gave the concluding remarks. Dr. Birupakshya Padhy, FIC SA, 1st yr thanked Mr. Sarbajit for his address on a subject so relevant to  the career of students.  The Dean School of Applied Sciences and other faculty members of 1st year were also present.
