World Antibiotic Awareness Week

The World Antibiotic awareness programme-2017 was observed in kalinga institute of nursing sciences on 18th November  2017,to celebrate the occasion, the faculties and students  of  1st   year M.sc nursing organized one day seminar on “World  antibiotic awareness programme. The aim of the seminar was to impart knowledge and aware about antibiotics and its resistance among 1st year M.sc nursing students, 3rd year GNM and 2nd year B.Sc. nursing students.
The seminar was inaugurated at 2.30 pm with lighting the lamp by Prof. (Mrs) Amrita Lenka, Principal, KINS, KIIT followed by unfolding the theme “Seek advice from a qualified Healthcare professional before taking antibiotics”.The scientific session was started at 2.30 P.M by Ms. Swarnalata Singh M. Sc(N) 1st year KINS with Introduction to Antibiotic. The next topic was Introduction to antibiotic resistance highlighted  by Indresh Gupta M.sc(N) 1st year, Public awareness of Antibiotic resistance was discussed by Miss Debashruti  Bhunia M.Sc(N) 1st year, Causes and threats  of antibiotic resistance was briefly discussed by Mrs. Archana Parida, M.sc(N) 1st year, How to stop antibiotic resistance was emphasized by Heeramani Hansdah M.sc(N) 1st year, Action plan on Antimicrobial Resistance was presented by Pragyanshree Nanda M. Sc(N) 1st year, Antimicrobial resistance, A Public Health challenge and priority  was described by Mrs.Kalyani Rath M.Sc(N) 1st year, Promote Safe use of antibiotic by Maitri das M.sc(N) 1st year, Role in controlling and prevention of antibiotic resistance was elaborated by Anisha Murmu and Anindita Mandal M. Sc(N) 1st year, followed by role play related to antibiotic resistance was performed by B.sc nursing 2nd year, Role of nurse in antibiotic Resistance was discussed by Mrs. Rashmi Ranjita Parhi M. Sc(N) 1st year. The open discussion related to the topics was done by the students and the faculties.The programme was concluded with vote of thanks by Maitri Das M.Sc (N) 1st year.
