KINS Organizes School Health Programme
The B.Sc. 4th year nursing students of Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences organized School Health Service on 15th Dec, 2022. The program was conducted under the mentorship and guidance of Mrs. Soumya Sonalika, Asst. Prof department of Community Health Nursing and Mrs. Sasmita Nayak, Asst. Prof Department of Community Health Nursing at Sarkari Uccha Prathamik Vidyalaya, Harekrishna Nagar, Niladri Vihar.
School children of Class V and Class VIII participated in the programme, under which their health assessment, including anthropometric measurement and physical examination, was performed by B.Sc. students. They provided health education on ‘Personal Hygiene and hand washing techniques’ followed by ‘Good Touch-Bad Touch’ to the 8th standard school students.
First aid box was donated to the school. The program ended with distribution of snacks among the children and teachers of the school. The programme was successful with constant support and motivation of Prof. Dr. Anasuya Pattanayak ,HOD Community Health Nursing Department. Student Nursing Association of India KINS branch collaborated with department of Community health nursing
