KINS Organizes School Health Programme
The 2nd Year M.Sc. Nursing students of Community Health Nursing Department, KINS and 3rd Year GNM students organized a School Health Service on 26th March 2022. The program was conducted under the mentorship and guidance of Prof. Dr. Niyati Das, Principal; Prof. Dr. Anasuya Pattanayak, HOD Community Health Nursing Department; Mrs. Trupti Rekha Swain, Assistant Professor; and Mrs. Prativa Ray, Tutor, KINS at Sarkari Uccha Prathamik Vidyalaya, Harekrishna Nagar, Niladri Vihar Urban slum.
School children of Class 6-8 participated in the programme, under which their health assessment, including anthropometric measurement and physical examination, was performed by GNM students. They demonstrated hand washing techniques and provided health education on personal hygiene to the school students. A role-play was also enacted by GNM students on the topic “Good Touch – Bad Touch”.
Prof. Dr. Niyati Das; Prof. Dr. Anasuya Pattanayak; and Mr. Chandan Pradhan, Assistant Professor KINS were present. It was a pleasant experience for KINS students to conduct an offline program after the lockdown. The programme ended with distribution of food packets among the children and teachers of the school.
