KINS Organizes ‘Kreoso’ for Newcomers

Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences (KINS) organized the welcome ceremony ‘Kreoso’ for the new batch (2021-22) of GNM, B.SC(N) and MSC(N) students on 2nd April 2022.

Addressing the students, Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Vice Chancellor, KIIT Deemed to be University inspired them with the quote of Swami Vivekananda – “Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached”. The essence of Veda, Quran, Bible and all other holy scriptures is serving the people, she mentioned, while urging the nursing students to actively imbibe the values of compassion, kindness and sensitivity. Success equips one to serve others and one should broaden the thought and skill needed to manifest it, she added.

Prof. (Brig.) Ambika Prasad Mohanty, Principal, KIMS congratulated the students for choosing an Institution of Eminence that provides world-class ambience and education. Prof. J. R. Mohanty, Registrar, KIIT-DU narrated the legacy and world rankings of the University and motivated the students to utilize this opportunity in the best possible manner.

Lt. Col. Susamma Sahu, Nursing Superintendent, KIMS Hospital and Prof. (Dr.) Niyati Das, Principal, KINS also addressed the students. The vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Kayani Rath, Vice Principal, KINS, who thanked the dignitaries for their inspiring words and 2nd year students, under the guidance of Mrs. Rashmi Ranjita Parhi, Tutor and Mrs. Jayasmini Mohanty, Asst. Prof., for organizing the event. A colourful cultural programme followed the welcome ceremony.
