KINS Organizes CNE on “Step up for Breastfeeding: Educate and Support”
Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences (KINS) organized a one-day CNE on “Step up for Breastfeeding: Educate and Support” on 4th August 2022 in virtual mode to celebrate the World Breastfeeding Day.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Abhilkha Biswal, Principal, PG College of Nursing, Bhilai highlighted the benefits of breastfeeding for mother as well as baby, barriers and challenges of breastfeeding, and different strategies of breastfeeding. Prof. (Dr.) Jomi John, Vice Principal, Institute of Nursing Education, Kerala delivered a talk titled “Rebuilding warm chain through education and support systems”. Dr. Santosh Panda, Asso. Prof., Neonatologist, KIMS spoke on “Availability of Breast milk for Preterm”.
Prof (Dr.) Niyati Das, Principal, KINS; Mrs Trupti Rekha Swain, Asst. Professor; and Dr. V. Sivashankari, Asso. Professor also spoke at the CNE, which was anchored by Miss Disha Sinha, M.Sc. (N) 2nd year student. The vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Kalyani Rath, Vice Principal, KINS. Around 150 participants joined the program.
