KINS in-service education programme on maternal complications
The Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences (KINS), a constituent of KIIT Deemed-to-be-University, organised an in-service education programme for nursing officers, by MSc Nursing second year students with Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) specialisation under the guidance of Prof. Kalyani Rath, Vice-Principal and HoD O&G Nursing, KINS.
The programme was held on 28th and 29th April at O&G ward demo class room to update the nursing officers’ knowledge about “maternal complications”. More than 20 nursing officers attended this educational programme.
On 28th April the session started with Tanupama Karna, who described all guidelines about the antenatal care, which was followed by antenatal assessment (abdominal palpation) demonstrated and performed by Debaleena Singha.
On 29th April the session started regarding active management of third stage of labor by Sobhna Pradhan, who highlighted the steps of (Active Management of the Third Stage of Labor) AMTSL to present third stage complication. Management of postpartum haemorrhage (PPH) was discussed by Piyali Bhatta. The programme achieved a great success with cooperation from all the nursing officers, ward in-charges, nursing superintendent and faculty members of the Department of O&G Nursing.
