KINS Faculty Chairs Session On SPNCON-2025, National Conference

Prof. Kalyani Rath, Vice Principal, from Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences (KINS), attended the National Conference SPNCON-2025, which focused on the theme “Empowering Nurses for Strengthening Post-Operative Practices.” The conference brought together nursing professionals, M.Sc. Nursing 2nd year students from this institute, educators, and experts from across the country to discuss advancements and best practices in post-operative care.

As a part of the event, the Vice Principal served as the Chairperson for the significant scientific session titled “Legal and Ethical Implications in Post-Operative Management.” This session focused on the critical legal responsibilities and ethical dilemmas nurses face in post-operative settings, especially in patient safety, informed consent, documentation, and professional accountability.

The resource person for this session was Dr. Shyam Hariharan, a distinguished expert in the field who delivered an insightful and thought-provoking presentation. Dr. Hariharan emphasised the importance of legal awareness and ethical sensitivity among nursing professionals to ensure high standards of care and avoid medico-legal complications. His presentation was well-received, and it was followed by an engaging interactive discussion.

The Vice Principal, in her role as Chairperson, facilitated the session, encouraging meaningful discourse among participants, and highlighted the relevance of integrating legal and ethical training into nursing curricula and clinical practice.

The conference overall served as a valuable platform for knowledge exchange and professional development, reaffirming the critical role of empowered nursing personnel in enhancing post-operative patient outcomes.
