KINS Conducts In-service Education on Kangaroo Mother Care
Under its in-service education programme of Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences (KINS) a session was conducted by M.Sc. Nursing Second Year Paediatrics Speciality students under guidance of Dr. (Prof) Niyati Das Principal, HoD of Child Health Nursing and Purnima Sahoo Associate Professor, KINS.
The programme was held on November 10 at NICU demonstration class room to update the nursing officers’ knowledge about “Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC)”. More than 20 nursing officers attended the educational programme.
The session started with Pragyan Priyadarshini Behera, who spoke about the introduction and barriers of KMC, Kangaroo Positioning by Tuhina Dey, preparation of mother before and start of KMC by Padmalaya Mishra and danger signs by Ankita Dash.
With the cooperation from all nursing officers, ward in-charge, nursing superintendent and respective faculties of Department of Child Health Nursing, the programme achieved a great success.
