International Women’s Day Celebrated at KINS

A woman is an epitome of beauty, wisdom and care. She  climbs the mountain and dives into the ocean; she matches the steps with every man in the world. Every year International Women’s Day is celebrated to bring awareness on the power of women -their rights and role in our lives and society .

On the occasion of International Women’s day, Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences, KIIT,DU in association with KIIT Women Forum Celebrated International women’s week on 3rd march 2023 on “DigitALL: Innovation & Technology for Gender Equality”  in KIMS auditorium.

Speaking on the occasion Prof (Dr.) Niyati Das, Principal, KINS emphasized on empowering women to achieve sustainable development goals(SDG) by innovation and digitalization.  She said it is a day of hope and reflection; and a celebration of gender parity in all walks of life that everyone should acknowledge. Further she emphasized on empowering a woman to educate the society. 

Thereafter  a panel discussion was carried out by the postgraduate students of KINS by throwing light on reproductive health. Nursing officers of PBMH, KIMS performed a beautiful dance performance to celebrate this day. KINS , NSS group also performed a Nukkad Natika which was based on the women’s role in the society on this occasion.

The first part of the program was conducted at KISS campus in which Mrs.Elina Jena , Tutor, KINS, KIIT, DU delivered  a health talk on menstrual hygiene and Ms Jayashree Pradhan tutor, KINS KIIT,DU  gave a talk on Physiological changes in puberty. GNM 2nd year students of KINS and KISS students performed role play on this occasion to celebrate the women’s day.

Prof Kalyani Rath, Vice Principal, KINS, HOD, obstetrics & Gynecological nursing, KINS, KIIT,DU  spoke on the importance of women empowerment  in the society and motivated students to get success in life by her inspirational words.

Around 250 participants were involved in the celebration. The program was successfully ended with a vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. Dipali Mohanty, member of women forum, ANS, PBMH, KIMS .
