International Nurses week & International Nurses Day-2016 Celebration

International Nurses week, 2016 was celebrated collaboratively by all Nursing staffs of PBMH, KIMS & faculties of KINS. The theme for the current year was “NURSES: a force for change: Improving health systems’ resilience”. The celebration was inaugurated on date: 09-05-2016 at 10.30am with lighting the lamp near Lord Jagannath followed by a marvellous welcome song by the students. International Nurses week address was delivered by Dr. B.C Das, Director, School of medicine, KIMS; Dr. R.N. Samanta, CEO, KIMS; Mr P. Parida, MR, KIMS. Prof. Mrs. Niyati Das, Vice-Principal, (CON) KINS highlighted on the importance of Nursing profession along with its challenges in society. Col. Susama Sahu, Nursing superintendent, PBMH, KIMS focused on the life history of Miss Florence Nightingale, founder of modern Nursing. Miss Promoda Kumari Nayak, Principal (SON) KINS delivered vote of thanks for this inaugural session of International Nurses week celebration.         
                                 
Various competitions including poster, slogan, quiz, song, solo dance, duet dance, role play was held from date: 9-05-2016 to date: 11-05-2016 among all nursing staffs of KIMS & all faculties of KINS.


On the occasion of International Nurses day, 2016 Welcome address was delivered by Prof. Mrs. A Lenka, Principal(CON) KINS. Dr. Sasmita Samanta, Registrar KIIT expressed the importance of nurses in health sector without which the equilibrium would be hampered. On the eve of International Nurses day observation Prof. Dr T.M Mohapatra, Pro VC R&D, KIIT; Prof. Dr. B.C Das, Director, School of medicine, KIMS; Prof. Dr. S.B Ogale, Principal, KIMS; Dr. R.N. Samanta, CEO, KIMS; Mr P. Parida, MR, KIMS addressed the gathering. All winners for various competitions were awarded with prize by our esteemed dignitaries. Bsc Nursing first year & GNM first year students taken professional oath by Miss Promoda Kumari Nayak, Principal (SON) KINS. Cultural programs were performed by all students of KINS.
Prof. Niyati Das, Vice-Principal (CON) KINS offered a cordial vote of thanks to the gathering. International Nurses week along with International Nurses Day was celebrated successfully.
