“Bharat Ka Amrut Mahostav” NSS Unit of KINS Celebrates 75 Years of Independence

NSS Unit of Kalinga Institute of Nursing Science (KINS), KIIT-DU organized a webinar on the theme “Nurses: Past to Present a Vision for Future Health Care” to celebrate 75 Years of Independence as part of “Bharat Ka Amrut Mahostav” on 31st May, 2021. The Program commenced with lighting of the lamp by Prof. Kalyani Rath, which was followed by the NSS Anthem.

In her welcome address, Prof. (Mrs.) Amarita Lenka, Principal, KINS elaborated on the theme and compared Nurses with angels, while highlighting their importance in the Healthcare System.

Dr. (Mrs) Kajal Parashar, Deputy Director CEC, Program Coordinator, KIIT NSS Bureau, Associate Professor, KIIT School of Applied Sciences asked Nurses to be compassionate, focus on Patient Counselling while providing care with a healing touch.

Mrs. Geetarani Nayak, Asst. Professor, College of Nursing, AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, who was the Special Invitee for this webinar, she took participants on a virtual tour. Nursing is not confined to the four walls of the Hospital & Patient Care, it has been elevated to an era of Substantial Independence, she stated, while sharing her past experiences as a NSS Volunteer. 

NSS volunteers of KINS enthralled the audience with their performance and virtually paid tribute to all frontline Covid warriors across the Globe.

Ms. Daini Sunita, Tutor, Programme Officer of KINS, NSS Unit proposed the vote of thanks. The program was anchored by Ms. Bhavya Verma & Supriya Singh Chandel, 2ndyear B.Sc. Nursing Students of KINS (NSS volunteers).  Around 300 participants attended the webinar.
