KIIT School of Commerce & Economics Organizes Orientation Programme for Ph.D Students

The School of Commerce & Economics, KIIT Deemed to be University organized an Orientation Programme for Ph.D. students enrolled in the academic session 2020-2021 on 23rd January 2021. Congratulating the scholars on making it to KIIT, Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Pro-Vice Chancellor said that quality research work gives a distinct profile to KIIT among its peers. Stating that KIIT has achieved many distinctions in a very short time, she suggested the scholars to keep societal needs in mind while pursuing their research work.     

Speaking at the programme, Prof. Jayanta Kumar Parida, Director, School of Commerce & Economics highlighted the facilities that a research scholar can avail at KIIT Deemed to be University, including the Automated Central Library, which provides access to almost all categories of books nationally & internationally, and the central computation centre. KIIT extends technical support in all forms and has a student-friendly approach in all academic processes, he stated. Drawing from his four decades of experience, Prof. Parida briefed students about the guidelines, rules and regulations of the Ph.D. programme along with other necessary procedures and formalities.  

A short informational video on achievements of the School, KIIT, KISS and its Founder, Dr. Achyuta Samanta was also screened. The programme started with a self introduction of the newly joined Ph.D scholars. It ended with brief presentations by the scholars followed by an open house discussion. Around 30 participants including faculty members and Ph.D. scholars from School of Commerce & Economics participated.
