UNICEF Odisha’s Social & Behaviour Change Specialist Visits KSMC
Dr. Sugata Roy, Social & Behaviour Change Specialist of UNICEF Odisha visited School of Mass Communication (KSMC), KIIT Deemed to be University for an interaction with the faculty members on 17th February 2022. He also met Professor Himansu Sekhar Khatua, CEO, KSMC. Dr. Bidu Bhusan Dash, Course Coordinator, KSMC briefed Dr. Roy about the School’s strengths, achievements, and facilities. Dr. Roy, who has over two decades of experience in Communication, Social and Behaviour Change, emphasised the need to look beyond monitoring indicators and focus on behavioural indicators. For this, academic inputs play a crucial role, he said. He expressed interest in collaboration with the School along the lines of student internships with UNICEF, social media content support, research, and seminars for student capacity building. Faculty members Ms. Ruby Nanda, Mr. Souptik Garai, Dr. Rajeev Kumar Panda, and Faculty Associates, Ms Chimoyee Deka and Ms Sanada Mukherjee were among those present.
