KSMC Faculty Joins as Resource Person in UGC-STRIDE Project of BRAUSS

Dr. Bidu Bhusan Dash, Assistant Professor and Course Coordinator, School of Mass Communication, KIIT Deemed to be University delivered a talk on Ethnographic Action Research for Transforming Development in Faculty Social Action Research Capacity Building (FSARCB) Training, conducted by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University of Social Sciences (BRAUSS), Madhya Pradesh on 14th November 2021.

As a resource person, Dr. Dash broadly spoke about how university and college professors adopt villages or slums, and conduct ethnographic action research to bring socio-cultural changes, development and empowerment by immersing themselves in their natural setting. The talk was highly appreciated by the participants and Prof. D. K. Verma, Project Coordinator of UGC-STRIDE Project; i.e., Social Action Research for Sustainable Development of Tribal Communities in Western Madhya Pradesh. Prof Verma is also the Director of Research, Extension and Training (RET) and Dean of the School of Social Sciences, BRAUSS.

The talk was moderated by Mr. Love Kumar Chawdikar, Project Associate, UGC-STRIDE Project. Around 50 participants, including faculty members and principles of government colleges located in five tribal districts, viz. Alirajpur, Badwani, Dhar, Khargone and Jhabua of Western Madhya Pradesh, attended the talk.
