First National-level Press Release Writing Competition Organized by KSMC Public Relations Club

KIIT School of Mass Communication Public Relations Club (KSMC PR Club) organized its first National-level Press Release Writing Competition on the online platform Google Meet on 17th July 2021. As many as 59 students from undergraduate Journalism and Communication programmes as well as other social sciences and humanities programmes from 16 cities of 10 states across the country and the neighboring country, Bangladesh registered and actively participated in the competition.

The event was moderated by Ms M. Snehanjali, Executive Member, KSMC PR Club, who gave a brief introduction of KIIT-DU and KISS-DU before introducing the School of Mass Communication. She spoke a few lines about the KSMC PR Club and its objectives and then acquainted the participants with the club and faculty members. The President of the KSMC PR Club, Ms Nidhi Nyari, welcomed the participants, offering her best wishes and encouragement.

The Joint Secretary of the KSMC PR Club, Aprajita Singhal, explained the competition guidelines and clarified doubts of the participants regarding the guidelines. The participants were provided with a Google form link which they were required to fill in order to receive their topics and begin the competition. The time provided to the participants was 1hour and 30 minutes within which they had to fill the form, write the press release and submit their work.  

Towards the end, Ms Sushree Susmita Nayak, an Executive Member of the club, proposed the vote of thanks to the participants and encouraged them to attend the winner announcement ceremony on 31st July 2021. The members expressed their gratitude towards the participants across universities such as Telangana University, Rishi Bankim Chandra College, Christ Nagar College, Christ University, Sharda University, Dayananda Sagar University, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University, and University of Kalyani, The University of Burdwan, Kerala University, Women’s College at Srinagar and Future Media School, etc for their enthusiasm that marked the end of this extremely successful event.
