Chudanga Adopted as NSS Village by KIIT NSS Bureau

Chudanga village of Daruthenga Gram Panchayat under Bhubaneswar Block was adopted as NSS Village by KIIT NSS Bureau on 17th April 2022. NSS volunteers of three schools of KIIT Deemed to be University – School of Mass Communication, School of Fashion Technology and School of Film and Media Sciences – will work with the villagers of Chudanga to bring social change and develop the village as a model NSS village.

“Chudanga is a tribal village, which is lacking development though it is located on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar. KIIT NSS Bureau has adopted the village to bring social change in the lives of the people”, said, Dr. Kajal Parasar, Programme Coordinator of KIIT NSS Bureau.

In this regard, an adaptation process meeting was held in Chudanga village. Sarpanch of Daruthenga Gram Panchayat, Mr. Tapan Kumar Chakrabarti presided over the meeting where Dr. Prabhat Kumar Rout and Dr. Bidu Bhusan Dash, Programme Officers of KIIT NSS Bureau talked how NSS volunteers can contribute for the development and social change in the village. Mr. Ajit Kumar Srichandan, Panchayat Samiti Nominee of Daruthenga Gram Panchayat and Singo Besra, Ward Member of Chudanga village were also present in the meeting. Comprising youth and women, a coordination committee was formed for smooth conduct of NSS activities in the village. Mr. Chakrabarti will be the chairman and Dr. Dash will be the convenor of this committee.
