The Legal Services Committee, KIIT Law School (KLS) conducted a Legal Awareness Camp at Peepal  Madhava Village, Jagatsinghpur District, on 10th  August 2026, with the objective of promoting legal awareness and facilitating access to justice among the rural community.

The camp witnessed the participation of approximately 50–60 villagers, who were sensitised on various aspects of legal rights, remedies, and available legal services. A pro bono client counselling session was also conducted, providing villagers with an opportunity to discuss their legal concerns and seek preliminary guidance.

The programme was conducted in the presence of Mr. Lokanath Mohapatra, Director – Legal Services, KLS, along with faculty coordinators Mr. Shashank Nande and Dr. Pragya Parimita Ray, and student members of the Legal Services Committee.

The initiative was further strengthened by the participation of Advocate Mr. Debi Dutta Mohapatra, Alumnus, KLS (2021 Batch), who actively contributed to the pro bono client counselling during the camp.

The programme provided a meaningful platform for interaction between the legal community and rural residents, while offering students practical exposure to community-oriented legal service. The initiative reflects KLS’s continued commitment to legal literacy, pro bono service, community engagement, and access to justice.

Through such initiatives, the Legal Services Committee continues to bridge the gap between legal education and community needs, fostering a culture of social responsibility among future legal professionals.
