KIIT Law School Conducts Skill Component Webinar
The Centre for Constitutional Law Studies and Research, KIIT Law School (KLS) conducted a Skill Component webinar on the topic ‘Federalism at The Time of Crisis: Role and Function of a Bureaucrat’. Delivering the webinar talk, Mr. Rajat Bansal, IAS, Collector, Bastar District, Chhattisgarh described challenges and successes in managing the Covid-19 pandemic in Bastar district. “Bastar was one of the first to be affected by Covid as a lot of paramilitary forces are stationed here. The district had its own set of challenges so the administration had to calibrate its response accordingly”, he said.
Competitive and comparative federalism works only in theory but in reality the way the systems are designed doesn’t seem competitive and it is all about coming together and working towards something, he stated, elaborating, the Constitution binds the Centre and States in a beautiful way and All India Services plays an important role in the scheme. Mr. Shashank Nande, Assistant Professor, KLS organized the event and Mr. Yogesh Mishra proposed a vote of thanks. This programme was organized under the overall leadership of Dr. Bhabani Prasad Panda, Director, KLS and Dr. Kyvalya Garikapati, Head of the Centre.
