KIIT Law School Conducts Orientation Programme for 1st Year Law Students
KIIT Law School (KLS) organized a Career Orientation Programme for the newly joined students of the 2021 – 2026 batch on 13th November 2021. The theme for the session, held on Zoom platform, was “Transforming from a Law Student to a Legal Professional”.
The resource person for the session, Mr. Sidharth Sharma, General Counsel, Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd. shared his personal experience from his days as a law student and later as a legal practitioner, and advised the students to pursue certain goals during their student days, which will be immensely beneficial for their career later. He highlighted the importance of loving the law and pursuing its ideals with due regard to work ethics and team spirit. He also advised the students to deconstruct the statutes and judgments to arrive at an understanding of the fundamental concepts, which would be very essential for their conceptual clarity and growth.
Earlier, Prof. (Dr.) Bhabani Prasad Panda, Director, KLS welcomed Mr. Sharma, his former student, and reminisced about the essential characteristics a student of law must pursue and imbibe, to become successful as a legal professional later in life.
The session witnessed many students asking questions to the resource person, and the response was motivating and inspiring for all participating in the interaction. The session was coordinated and moderated by Prof. Sudipta De Sarkar of KLS.
