Intra Mock Trial Competition-2022 at KIIT Law School
The Trial & Appellate Advocacy Society (TAAS) of KIIT Law School (KLS) organized the 4th Intra Mock Trial Competition – 2022 for the students pursuing B.A L.LB, B.B.A L.LB and B.Sc. L.LB programs. The event was organized from 26th – 27th March 2022 in two slots. The participants showcased their finest advocacy skills and utmost enthusiasm in front of the learned judges.
The competition was based on a Trial Proposition that was released a month before the commencement of the competition. A total of 35 teams participated in this competition with about 80 witnesses and volunteers. A panel of two judges evaluated each round. Each team was allotted a fixed time for giving their opening statement, examination-in-chief, cross-examination, and the closing statement. The judges gave the teams valuable feedback and also shared their experiences with the participants. Besides Best Team, 1st Runner-up and 2nd Runner-up, awards like Best Student Advocate, Best Student Researcher, and Beast Written Brief were given to outstanding participants.
The exposure will go a long way in helping the students imbibe practical argumentative and leadership skills in addition to theoretical knowledge. Mr. Sarvesh Kumar Shahi, Faculty Coordinator, TAAS Society; Mr. Anirudha Choudhury, Convenor and the entire Organizing Committee expressed gratitude towards all the judges, speakers, volunteers and other participants for making the event a grand success. The trials were witnessed by more than 200 students and provided a great platform for motivation to enhance their advocacy skills from the very start of their law school journey
