A ‘Knowledge Dialogue’ session on the topic “What Women Entrepreneurs Bring to the Table in the 21st Century” was organized by Synergy, the HR Club of KIIT School of Management (KSOM), on 4th February 2022. The session featured a student panel discussion which had Riddhi Bhattacharya, Bicky Rauniyar and Simon Macharia, BBA-II students of KSOM, as the panellists.

Moderating the session, Mayank, a MBA-I student of KSOM, briefly introduced the subject. Quoting famous words by Swami Vivekananda – “There is no chance for the welfare of the world unless the condition of women is improved” – Riddhi explained how she would see herself as a future women entrepreneur. Contributing to the discussion, Simon described the life and works of Wangarĩ Muta Maathai, a Kenyan social, environmental and political activist who became the first African woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize. The world needs leaders with compassion and that means the world needs more female leaders, opined Bicky.

Success stories and contributions of prominent women entrepreneurs including Vandana Luthra (VLCC) and Falguni Nayar (Nykaa) were also discussed. At the end of the discussion Mayank summarised all of the panellists’ points, stating that in order to truly advance women’s potential, women must take a stand and focus on their dreams. MBA students, Shatabdi Ghosh and Tapaswanee Sahoo anchored the session.
