KSOM Hosts 3rd International Conference on Management Research-ICMR 2023

School of Management, KIIT Deemed to be University(KSOM) successfully conducted the 3rd International Conference on Management Research on the theme: “Business, Technology, Innovation and Sustainability” through Hybrid mode on 23rd & 24th of February 2023.

Placing the Welcome Address, Dr. Sumita Mishra, Dean,  KSOM emphasized on the importance of sustainable development goals and resilient business models for innovation and ideation. In his Keynote Speech, Dr. Dilip Ratha, a leading economist at the World Bank shared his ideas on “Innovative Financing for Development: A 100 billion dollar Financing Idea“. He elucidated the role of Diaspora bonds, Reduction of remittance cost, and Channelizing finances through philanthropic activities as approach of financing for the development of an economy.

As a Guest of Honour, Dr. Hrudananda Panda, Regional Director of RBI, Odisha Head spoke about financial inclusion elucidating how it is important to have a bank account as it acts as an infrastructure to house future inflow of money. He also cited how technology such as UPI, IMPS, Mobile Banking, etc. plays an important role in the effective spread of financial inclusion, and also illustrated the role of RBI with respect to CBDC.

Convener of the Conference, Prof. Shikta Singh, apart from coordinating the entire program, proposed  the vote of thanks. She expressed her gratitude to college dignitaries followed by eminent guests such as Dr. Tapas Mishra, Southampton University UK; Dr. Sudhir Rana, Gulf Medical University, UAE; Dr. Tirthankar Patnaik, Dr. Pravakar Sahoo, Dr. Anshuman Kamila for their valuable presence and insightful sessions.

Two plenary sessions followed the inauguration session. After the plenary session, a research workshop on SLR using NVIVO & Smart PLS was conducted. The second day of ICMR 2023 had  23 parallel technical sessions  with 6 virtual workshops, 2 hybrid sessions, and 5 physical sessions happening during the first half.

Research papers were presented in areas of Accountancy, Economics & Finance, Business Management, HR & OB, Marketing, Tech & Decision Science & papers in Ph.D. Symposium. In these sessions, more than 130 papers were presented. The day ended with the closing remarks of Prof. Nikhil Srivastava, the Co-convenor, who summarised the entire two-days of the event and also gave the Vote of thanks.

The two days of the conference came to an end with the felicitation of the Track chairs, Moderator and Convenor Prof. Shikta Singh & Co-convenor; Prof. Nikhil Srivastava by Prof. Sumita Mishra, Prof. Ashok Sar, and Prof. R N Subudhi who presented mementos to each session chair in appreciation of their work and also felicitated the Convenor and Co- Convenor of the Conference. There was participation from more than 200 delegates present over physical and hybrid mode and with more than 300 students present physically
