KIIT School of Architecture & Planning Organizes Alumni Talk

School of Architecture and Planning, KIIT Deemed to be University in collaboration with KIIT Alumni Association conducted a second talk under ‘Alumni Talk Series’ by Lieutenant Debajyoti Banerjee, an alumnus of 2019 Batch. An architect at heart and an army man by profession, Lieutenant Banerjee shared his experience on urban design and explained the importance of having smart street plans. He also stressed on a few points like the environment, people’s participation and smart practices which can help build more livable cities. Discussing his very fascinating journey from being an architect to an army man, he gave insights on the construction and design of army shelters and camps in remote areas, where climate is extreme and survival challenging. Students got to know about how the defence forces use architecture, planning and materials for making sturdy and well equipped bases. The talk was followed by a question-answer session. The session was coordinated by Prof. Parthiba Chakraborty, Alumni coordinator, KSAP and moderated by Anashuiya Bhattacharya, 4th year student.
