World Photography Day KIIT School of Film and Media Sciences Organizes 3rd KIIT Global Photography Festival
Coinciding with World Photography Day (19th August), KIIT School of Film & Media Sciences (KSFMS) initiated the 3rd KIIT Global Photography Festival (KGPF) with an insightful, three days long webinar. Photography enthusiasts participated in the virtual event.
The festival was inaugurated by the National award-winning filmmaker and CEO of SFMS, SFT & SMC Prof. Himansu S. Khatua, An eminent, well-renowned filmmaker, Mr. Jugal Debata was the chief speaker of the day. The festival started with the unveiling of the logo and Prof. Himansu S. Khatua declared it open. He delivered the inaugural speech.
The 1st day’s webinar began with the talk by Mr. Jugal Debata on the theme “A New World, A New Perspective” which was the same as that of the photography competition, in which the participants competed under two categories – DSLR and Mobile. The question & answer session gave the participants an opportunity to interact with the two veteran filmmakers and get their interesting questions based on photography, answered by them, who imparted their valuable fusion of the knowledge and experience accumulated through the investment of their arduous efforts and time inside the film industry. A discussion regarding photography during the pandemic life was a major highlight of the event.
The Maestro of Canon EOS and founder of Tollyshots Institute of Photography, Anoop Guha was invited as a resource person to the webinar. He delivered his talk on “Recent Advancements in Photography.” Participants were engrossed in the interactive talk and the colorful light that he casted on photography. The event ended early evening with the anticipation of welcoming participants again during the next few days to fill their thirst for knowledge on photography.
The KIIT Global Photography Festival was conceptualized by CEO, Prof. Himansu S. Khatua to celebrate the art of photography. Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Hon’ble MP, Kandhamal and Founder, KIIT & KISS has been a continuous source of inspiration in the realization of the festival. This year too, the convener and coordinators of the festival Mr Susanta Bahinipati, Mr Ajaya Kumar Mishra, Mr Ganeswara Mohapatra and Administrative Officer Mr R. K. Baral along with the students of KSFMS took the initiative to organize the event for the third time with much gaiety.
