KIIT School of Public Policy inaugurated by Lok Sabha Speaker
Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla inaugurated the KIIT School of Public Policy, celebrating India’s democratic strength and citizen-focused governance on 28 October 2024. Addressing academicians, policymakers, and students, he highlighted India’s influence on global peace through “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (the world is one family). Odisha Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy and Deputy Chief Minister KV Singhdeo praised the school’s mission to train future leaders and applauded founder Dr. Achyuta Samanta’s dedication to education and social upliftment. The school, supported by the Indian Council of World Affairs and the United Nations System Staff College. UNSSC Director Dr. Jafar Javan, former Vice President of Ecuador Otto Sonnenholzner, and MP Aparajita Sarangi commended the school’s vision and Dr. Samanta’s relentless work for marginalized communities. ICWA Additional Secretary Nutan Kapoor Mahawar hailed the school as a crucial step for fostering global alliances. Filmmaker Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi and KIIT’s Prof. N.L. Mitra emphasized its role in shaping future policymakers dedicated to national welfare. KIIT Chancellor Dr. Ashok Parija, Vice Chancellor Prof. Saranjit Singh, and Asia Society Policy Institute’s Akshay Mathur also attended the inauguration.
