KSOL Faculty Delivers Lecture on “Modern, Modernity and Modernism: A Historical and Literary Analysis”

Ms. Debanjali Roy, Assistant Professor, School of Languages, KIIT Deemed to be University was invited as a speaker in the Special Lecture Series held in virtual platform organized by the Department of English, Heramba Chandra College, University of Calcutta. Prof. Roy delivered a lecture titled “Modern, Modernity and Modernism: A Historical and Literary Analysis” on December 2, 2021, where she focused on the distinct nature of the terms ‘modernity’ and ‘modernism’ through socio-cultural, artistic and literary explorations.

The lecture, primarily intended for students and scholars having exposure to concepts of modernism and modernist literature, was attended by eminent academicians from colleges and universities of the country as well. Prof. Roy’s discussion on modernist art and literature through interactions and audio-visual presentation was lauded by the organizers and participants.
