KIIT School of Languages Organizes Online Valedictory Meeting of First Batch Foreign Language Students

KIIT School of Languages (KSOL) organized online Valedictory Meeting for this year’s First Batch (Jan-March)  Foreign Language Students on 30th March 2021 on successful completion of the three-month course in presence of Prof. Jnana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar, KIIT Deemed to be University and Dr Biswajit Das, Dean, KSOL.

Students of French and German language expressed gratitude to their respective trainers Mr. Subhrangshu Mohanty and Mr. Pravin Kumar Gupta for excellent teaching and guidance while sharing feedback on overall course delivery. Though representing different Schools and backgrounds, students got an opportunity to learn together the foreign languages as well as developed cultural perspectives.

Deepabali Majumder (3rd yr Computer Engineering), Subhadip Mukherjee (2nd yr Biotechnology), Somagni Roy (3rd yr Biotech), Bholanath Das (PhD Scholar), Snehagni Roy (3rd yr Biotechnology),   Satadru Das (1st yr Mechanical Engineering),  Aditya Raj Dash (4th yr Civil Engineering) and  Ashna Biswal (2nd yr Computer Engineering) shared their valuable comments and feedbacks during the valedictory meeting. Several students also submitted their inputs on the courses through online feedback form. Most of them now want to enrol for another level of language learning.

Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty congratulated all students and their trainers for successful completion of the first batch foreign language course. While assuring his full support for promoting new language courses, he emphasized learning language and cultural skills to build confidence and employment prospects. Dr Biswajit Das shared KSOL’s vision to offer different language training courses in phased manner and to continue and sustain with those courses as he strongly feels the essentiality of foreign language learning to communicate effectively in the foreign soil.

The first batch of foreign language certificate courses for this year commenced on 12th January 2021 for which a total of 75 students from different Schools of KIIT-DU took admissions. Enrolment for the German, French and Communicative English course was 45, 24 and 6 respectively. On 20th March 2021, the examination was held for the three language courses to evaluate competencies of students. 

Encouraged by the response for the 1st batch admissions, KIIT School of Languages has introduced three new foreign language courses – Japanese, Arabic and Spanish- for April-June 2021 session (2nd Batch) for which enrolment is ongoing. Last date of admission for the upcoming session is 10th April 2021. All the courses are of 30 hours with 4 hours per week for a span of three months imparted through online mode in the evening. The School of Languages is in pursuit of empowering people through imparting value based and cost effective Foreign Language Courses to develop globally acclaimed skill-set, cultural sensitivities and competitive edge to succeed worldwide. The School also offers Degree programs of B.A. (English Honours) and M.A. (English). It intends to introduce the IELTS training course from next session for students aspiring for a global career.
