Inauguration of New Batches of ‘B.A. English (Hons) & M.A. English’ at KIIT School of Languages
The Inauguration & Orientation Ceremony of B.A. English (Honours) and M.A. English Degree courses were held online on 2nd November 2020. Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS virtually inaugurated the batches in the presence of Prof. Hrushikesha Mohanty, Vice Chancellor; Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Pro-Vice Chancellor; Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar; and Prof. Biswajit Das, Dean, School of Languages.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Achyuta Samanta apprised the students about the importance of the orientation program before the commencement of classes. Expressing concern about the safety of students in these difficult times, he explained how life is all about education and excellence, and compassion and humanity. These virtues lead to a complete human being, he added.
Prof. Hrushikesha Mohanty elucidated on how the Founder has been translating his vision of making KIIT and KISS an institute of eminence to reality. Prof. Sasmita Samanta spoke about the fast pace of systems and processes which have been evolving with the intervention of human capabilities and briefed the students on the NEP-2020. Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty introduced the world-class infrastructure of KIIT to the newly admitted students.
Prof. Biswajit Das, Dean, School of Languages, introduced the School of Languages and also enlightened the students about KIIT Deemed to be University. Prof. Sahel Md. Delabul Hossain, Coordinator, Department of English, School of Languages elucidated about the curriculum and course structure of both the course, and also talked about the academics and scope of research to the students. He also proposed the vote of thanks emphasizing on the societal impact of the university.
More than 60 students and their parents, and the respective faculty members of the School and the University participated in the ceremony over a virtual platform.
