KIIT Quality Assurance Cell Organizes Tech Talk

A virtual Tech Talk on “21 Century Job Opportunities & Challenges: A Personal Perspective” was organized by KIIT Quality Assurance Cell in association with IEEE IES Society and IEEE Consumer Technology Society, Bhubaneswar Sub-section on 27th November, 2021. The talk was delivered by Dr. Krishna D. Kumar, Professor of Aerospace Engineering, Department of Aerospace Engineering, Ryerson University, Canada and Founder & President, iSAC Systems Inc. Toronto. 

Dr. Kumar focussed on Artificial Intelligence-based Predictive Analytics, Big Data and Internet-of-things (IoT) to diverse sectors like Transportation, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Finance, Environmental and Waste Management. He elaborated on Industry Trends, how the industry is changing at fast pace, viz.  from industry 1.0 (mechanical manufacturing) to industry 4.0 (digitization). In today’s world, SMART technology like AI, Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, IOT, Data Centre, etc. is the way forward. IoT actuator and sensor are used as part of industry and middle is processor with AI capability. 2Pcube is a product from iSAC that works on AI that can improve profitability and performance. Real time risk management, real time storage, real time analysis and real time data messaging are some of the functions of the device. Examples of AI tools and libraries like TenserFlow, Spark, Kafka etc. were highlighted which are used in the industry. For manufacturing, 2P cube consists of features like maintenance, cost reduction, productivity, forecasting, machine uptime. The big data Hadoop helps in improvement in the performance of the system also, he remarked. AI is being integrated with and deployed into a variety of sectors such as finance, national security, health care, criminal justice, transportation, and smart cities, added Dr. Kumar.

At the outset, Prof. Chinmoy Kumar Panigrahi, Director, Quality Assurance extended a warm welcome to Prof. Krishna, while Prof. Ranjeeta Patel, School of Electrical Engineering gave a word of thanks. It was an interactive and insightful session about job scenarios in future, industry trends along with iSAC company related cases. GATE aspirants, Faculty Coordinators for GATE Practice Test, M.Tech. scholars and interested B.Tech. students attended the session.
