Academic Empowerment 2021-22: KIIT Quality Assurance Cell Organizes Welcome Meeting for Experts

The purpose of the Academic Empowerment exercise is to encourage departments or programs to evaluate their “education quality processes” – the key faculty activities required to produce, assure, and regularly improve the quality of teaching, activity-based learning, question pattern, assessment,  curricular aspects, research, project, best practices, etc.  

The annual Academic Empowerment exercise for 2021-22, conducted by KIIT Quality Assurance Cell, commenced with an online welcome meeting for the experts on 23rd May 2022. The exercise will be conducted across all Schools of KIIT-DU from 23rd May to 7th June 2022.

Speaking at the meeting, Prof. J. R. Mohanty, Registrar, KIIT-DU highlighted the objectives behind the exercise. It was started long back in KIIT-DU at the initiative of Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS, when this concept was not even there on the agenda of accrediting agencies, he informed. Dr. Arindam Deb, Deputy Director, Accreditations discussed the focal areas and evaluation matrices on which the Academic Empowerment will be conducted.

Extending a warm welcome to the experts, Prof. Chinmoy Kumar Panigrahi, Director, Quality Assurance informed that 33 eminent academicians from reputed institutions across India have been invited for the Academic Empowerment exercise. He shared the vision of Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Vice Chancellor for achieving excellence through strategic planning and meticulous executions. He also informed about the action taken by Schools on the suggestions of experts during the last Academic Empowerment exercise.

The Deans, Directors, Principals of all the Schools, faculty coordinators of QA Cell, and external resource persons were present at the meeting. Dr. Biswajit Mishra, Dean Quality Assurance offered words of thanks to the participants for their active support and involvement.
